Military to receive additional equipments this week – Jonathan
President Goodluck Jonathan has revealed that the Nigerian Military will take delivery of additional equipments this week to boost their ongoing fight against Boko Haramn insurgents in the Northeast. Jonathan disclosed this on Monday when he paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambari, in his palace, during the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential rally in the state. According to the president, with the delivery of the new equipments, the military would, within the next two weeks, move faster to curtail the insurgency. “You have observed us for the past four years. Yes, we have security challenges relating to the Boko Haram saga mainly in North East.
“Although their excesses extend to some parts of the North like Abuja, Sokoto, Gombe and Kano. But it is mainly in the North East. We are working hard and we shall surely bring it to a halt. “As far as the military is concerned, even as we are talking, we are expecting more platforms this week and next week. “I believe that in the next two weeks or so, we will be able to move faster than we are moving,” Jonathan said. In his remarks, the Emir said Jonathan has performed very well and prayed that God would crown the President’s effort with success. He, however, urged all politicians to conduct their campaigns without violence. Speaking earlier, the national chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Adamu Muazu, told the emir that the delegation was in the palace to seek his support and prayer.

Aisha buhari address issue surrounding her nationality
In certain areas, speculation is rising that the wife of Muhammadu Buhari, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Hajia Aisha Buhari, is not a Nigerian.
Mrs Buhari has therefore addressed the rumours saying that she is a Nigerian, and even if she wasn’t, it was unimportant in the scheme of things.
She refuted the insinuations on Friday, January 23, in Kaduna, through Deborah Iliya, a chieftain of APC, who represented her at the public presentation of a book, “Wind of change: 72 leadership qualities of Buhari,” written by a civil rights activist and Executive Director of Gatekeepers Foundation, Blessing Agbomhere.
She said: “Let me use this opportunity to deliver a message because there may not be another opportunity to deliver it. We know what is going on in the country today. It has reached the stage that people are hunting for Buhari not to reach that day of election.
“They have also said that Aisha Buhari is not a Nigerian. Aisha said I should tell everyone that she is a Nigerian. Does it even matter if she is not a Nigerian? What has that got to do with what is happening in this country?”
Furthermore, Iliya delivered the call of Buhari, for women to actively participate in the development of the nation.
Iliya said: “Aisha said she is pleased because the author is a young man; this is an indication that our youths have always understood the problems of this country and they are really pulling us together to fight a common front and that is change. We need change in Nigeria. For the past six years, we have been suffering; I wish a woman has been President we wouldn’t have been in this mess.”
“So women, she (Aisha) has asked that I should encourage you to come out and be part of nation building. We are powerful; we are strong and stronger than the men. Please support women and next time we will have a woman President in Nigeria.”
shocking: baby born without eyes in Arizona
looking at the image above the word that comes into mind is Unbelievable, about two weeks after giving birth to a baby boy in Arizona, the mother of the baby just discovered that her son had no eyes. UPI reports:
Kelly Lopez gave birth to Richie Lopez three months ago after a normal pregnancy and ultrasound, and initially she thought the infant’s face was swollen. An MRI test 13 days later indicated that Richie Lopez had been born without any eyes.
“I think we were just in shock. Obviously very upsetting,” shetold 3TV. “The first thought through your mind is, how did this even happen and how was it not even caught?”
Expanders were sutured into Richie Lopez’s eye sockets to keep them spaced and ready for future prosthetic replacements, but he rubbed them out. His mother was able to re-insert one, an experience she described as “emotional” but necessary. The family dog is believed to have eaten the other.
Doctors said the child still had his optical nerve. “I do hope that one day they’ll be able to either grow an eye or transplant an eye,” Kelly Lopez said.
