Doyin Okupe list reasons why Presidency wants elections postponed

The Presidency on Friday listed some of the reasons it feels that going ahead with the February dates for the general elections as scheduled by the Independent National Electoral Commission can “throw the country into turmoil and confusion.”
The Presidency has stated some of its reservations against the holding of the general elections in February.
According to the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Doyin Okupe, if the elections go on as planned, they may throw the country into chaos.
While speaking at a press conference on the Council of State meeting held on Thursday, Okupe said the president would not engage in any form of subterfuge to pressurise INEC to change the dates of the elections.
He said during the meeting held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, the chairman of INEC, Prof. Attahiru Jega, never insisted on the February dates as reported by some section of the media.
On the level of preparedness of INEC, Okupe stated that during the meeting, it was revealed that the only process that was 100% concluded was the preparation and availability of the voters register.
He said: “Also in his presentations to the Council, the INEC Chairman, stated clearly that for the electoral process to be free, fair, and credible, there are other matters which were not under the control of INEC, principal among which is the issue of provision and guarantee of security of lives and properties.”
“The Security Chiefs were unanimous in their advice to the Council that it will be impossible for now for them to guarantee security of electoral materials, INEC Staff, and the voting population in the areas currently engulfed by the war against insurgency.”
He added: “For the avoidance of doubt, Nigerians are hereby re-assured that there has never been, and never shall be any plan to cancel the 2015 elections, for any reasons whatsoever. It will not happen, and the May 29th date for the swearing-in is sacrosanct. All talks about interim government arrangement is pure fiction. The consideration behind the possibility of change of date is to allow those who may be disfranchised from voting on the 14th February to have an opportunity to exercise their lawful rights to vote and participate in the general elections.”
“The new wave of successes being recorded by the Military in the War against insurgency, especially with the arrival of new effective combatant equipment and machinery, plus the newly revamped cross border co-operation with Niger, Chad and Cameroonian Military, offer a very genuine hope that in a very short while, the situation in the affected states will be brought under such reasonable control that will guarantee safety of the electoral process and electorate in the war front region of the North–East at a no distant future.”
“We repeat that the only set of people who stand to benefit from a shift in election dates are Nigerians who desire to vote and have not been able to collect their Permanent Voters Cards and other innocent citizens living in the war zone who may not be able to vote on the 14th February. We also wish to recollect that in 2003, 2007, and 2011 the elections were held in April, and the hand over date was not affected.”
“We therefore challenge the opposition to tell Nigerians in clear terms, what dangers the change of date from February 14th portends to the electoral process or to the Nigerian electorate. It will also be good if the opposition tells us who stands to benefit or be disadvantaged from any shifting of date and how.”
“It will be very re-assuring if the INEC can get its RECs to attach their state of readiness to a sworn affidavit and show it to Nigerians. The interest of this government is to ensure that we do not have a rancorous and poorly conducted general elections that will throw the country into turmoil and confusion with the likelihood of an unnecessary internal and external rejection and condemnation,” he said.

Al Quaeda killed Whitney Houston: kola boof claims

Controversial Sudanese author Kola Boof, and Osama Bin Laden's one time mistress says Al quaeda, not drugs killed music legend, Whitney Houston..

This won't be the first time she's linking Whitney to Al quaeda ..In her 2006 autobiography, Kola alleged Osama Bin Laden was so obsessed by Whitney Houston and plotted to have Bobby Brown murdered before wooing Houston by giving her a mansion he owned...

Osama said only monkeys braid their hair. He told me that the singer Whitney Houston was the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen and that she never wore her hair braided. I want you to fix your hair like hers from now on,” he said. “I can't put my fingers through it when it's braided." 'Osama kept coming back to Whitney Houston. He asked if I knew her personally when I lived in America. I told him I didn't.
'He said that he had a paramount desire for Whitney Houston, and although he claimed music was evil, he spoke of someday spending vast amounts of money to go to America and try to arrange a meeting with the superstar.'How beautiful she is, what a nice smile she has, how truly Islamic she is but is just brainwashed by American culture and her husband—Bobby Brown, whom Osama talked about having killed, as if it were normal to have women's husbands killed."

Audit report indicts NNPC TO REFUND $1.48 BILLION

According to NTA: Briefing the media on the recommendations of the forensic audit, Auditor-General of the Federation, Samuel Ukura said the report centered on the key areas of NNPC costs, NPDC revenues and Kerosene subsidy.
The forensic audit by PriceWaterHouse Coopers was necessitated by public outcry over alleged $20 billion unremitted oil revenue into the Federation account by the NNPC. An earlier investigation by the Senate reconciliation committee for the period between 2012 and 2013 revealed that the unremitted fund was $67 billion.
The Auditor-General of the Federation Samuel Ukura said the actual amount was $69.34 billion. The subsidy on Petrol was 5.32 billion dollars, Kerosene$3.38 billion, third party financing and equity crude processing$1.19 billion; while costs directly attributable to domestic crude oil amounted to $1.46 billion. Therefore, total cash remitted to the Federation Account was $50.81 billion.
The report also stated that NPDC should remit dividend to NNPC and ultimately to the Federation Account. $3.38 billion dollars spent on subsidy for Kerosene was not appropriated for during the period. PriceWaterHouse Coopers recommended that an official directive be written to support the legality of the kerosene subsidy costs and should be followed by adequate budgeting and appropriation.
President Jonathan received the report on Monday and ordered the Auditor-General of the Federation to make key aspects of it public.
