The Dean, Students Affairs of LASU, Prof. Kabir Akinyemi, told NAN in Lagos that arrangements had been put in place for a successful event. “Although we are still compiling the total number of students that will be matriculated, it cannot be less than 2000 students,” Akinyemi said. Also, the institution’s bulletin given to NAN indicated that the matriculation lecture for the freshmen, parents and guardians would hold before the Feb. 11 event.
It said the university authorities expected all the newly-admitted students offered provisional admission and cleared during screening to have paid their school fees before Feb. 4. The bulletin also directed the fresh students to collect their matriculation gowns at their various faculties by 7.30 a.m. on Feb. 4, on the payment of a fee of N2, 500. “The gown should be returned to the point of collection the same day by 2 p.m. as failure to do so will attract penalty,” the bulletin said.

Audit report indicts NNPC TO REFUND $1.48 BILLION
According to NTA: Briefing the media on the recommendations of the forensic audit, Auditor-General of the Federation, Samuel Ukura said the report centered on the key areas of NNPC costs, NPDC revenues and Kerosene subsidy.
The forensic audit by PriceWaterHouse Coopers was necessitated by public outcry over alleged $20 billion unremitted oil revenue into the Federation account by the NNPC. An earlier investigation by the Senate reconciliation committee for the period between 2012 and 2013 revealed that the unremitted fund was $67 billion.
The Auditor-General of the Federation Samuel Ukura said the actual amount was $69.34 billion. The subsidy on Petrol was 5.32 billion dollars, Kerosene$3.38 billion, third party financing and equity crude processing$1.19 billion; while costs directly attributable to domestic crude oil amounted to $1.46 billion. Therefore, total cash remitted to the Federation Account was $50.81 billion.
The report also stated that NPDC should remit dividend to NNPC and ultimately to the Federation Account. $3.38 billion dollars spent on subsidy for Kerosene was not appropriated for during the period. PriceWaterHouse Coopers recommended that an official directive be written to support the legality of the kerosene subsidy costs and should be followed by adequate budgeting and appropriation.
President Jonathan received the report on Monday and ordered the Auditor-General of the Federation to make key aspects of it public.kim Kardashian goes completly nude on love magazine

up to $7 million to be used in buying Saddam Hussein death rope
According to a Lond0n-based Arabic-language publication, bidders are vying to purchase the length of rope used to hang ousted Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein in 2006.
An unnamed senior Iraqi political official told Al-Araby Al-Jadeed that various suitors, including a wealthy Israeli family, an Iranian religious organization and two Kuwaiti businessmen, have approached the man who still keeps the rope. That's Mowaffak al-Rubaie, Iraq's national security adviser between 2004 and 2009, who apparently keeps the rope around a bust of the fallen tyrant in Rubaie's home in the Iraq city of Kadhimiyah.
Rubaie has received a $7 million bid, reports Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, but supposedly wants more. There so far has been no direct confirmation or denial from Rubaie or the Iraqi government that this grisly artifact is indeed up for sale.
The official was present on the December day Hussein was executed more than eight years ago.
"I had my men bring me back a segment of the rope after they cut Saddam down," he explained to the Independent in 2013, gesturing then at the large bust in his home. "So I thought it appropriate to put it around the neck of Saddam’s statue."
Rubaie, a Shiite who spent many years in exile during Hussein's reign, described the experience of watching Iraq's long-ruling dictator being taken to the gallows.
"I was not looking for revenge for the three times his security thugs had imprisoned and tortured me," he told the Independent. “I was hoping to see him show some remorse for the terrible crimes, the hundreds of thousands of his own citizens that he and his henchmen killed... But there was nothing. I could see he was not a religious man. We had to remind him to say ‘Allahu Akbar’ [‘God is greatest’] as he was about to die."
Hussein was eventually buried in the town of Auja, his birthplace, 95 miles north of Baghdad. As Iraq unraveled in the chaos of recent years, his tomb became the site of a tacit struggle between Sunni tribal groups and Shiite militias. According to a Reuters report last year, local tribal leaders ordered the body to be secretly taken away in order to protect it from the ravages of Shiite fighters, mobilized to ostensibly fight the jihadists of the Islamic State.
